Narrative
PLEASANT HILL, IA – A 35-year-old woman died Sunday in a single-vehicle crash in an eastern suburbs of Des Moines.
The accident happened just after midnight east of US-65 on Southeast Vandalia Drive in the city of Pleasant Hill. This is north of the Des Moines River and northwest of Yellow Banks Park.
Police say that for unknow reasons, Emily Ora Woolsey of Carlisle lost control of her vehicle and travelled into a ditch after crashing through the guardrail. The vehicle overturned and caught fire.
Authorities pronounced Woolsey deceased at the scene.
