Narrative
NEAR LEWIS, IA – A 59-year-old man operating a 2019 Chevrolet Silverado lost his life after he was hit by a driver of another pickup truck on Highway 6 Monday.
This crash happened before 6 a.m. Officials have not clarified the reasoning behind why the motorist of a 2007 GMC Sierra pickup truck drifted off the westbound lanes and into the east. They said the GMC motorist — 43-year-old Vincent Tribona from Amite, Louisiana — did not sustain serious wounds.
Iowa State Patrol said the 59-year-old man, who they identified as Gregg Cohrs from Griswold, Iowa, succumbed to fatal injuries at the scene.
