Narrative
LEON, IA – Two people died last Friday in a two-vehicle collision along the highway in central Decatur County.
The incident happened at 7:40 p.m. on Highway 2 near Lineville Road, which is on the eastern outskirts of Leon.
Police say that the driver of a northbound Equinox neglected to heed a stop sign and collided with a 2023 Chevrolet Silverado.
Both the driver and passenger in the Equinox died after being ejected from the vehicle. Authorities identified the victims as 55-year-old Robin Ann Reaves and 46-year-old Lance Eugene Reaves.
The adult driver of the Silverado and a 10-year-old passenger went to the hospital with non-critical injuries.
None of the persons involved were wearing seatbelts at the time of the accident.
