DES MOINES, IA – A collision involving multiple motorcycles and a car in Des Moines sent two motorcyclists to the hospital early Friday morning.
The incident took place at about 1:15 a.m. on 2nd Ave. between Douglas and Euclid Avenues. Three motorcycles were traveling together when one rider couldn’t stop in time at a red light, colliding with the leading motorcycle, which then struck a stopped car. The third motorcyclist managed to avoid the collision.
Both injured motorcyclists, whose identities remain undisclosed, are expected to recover. Meanwhile, 42-year-old Dorsey Wilson, the third rider, was arrested for operating under the influence and is in custody at the Polk County Jail.
Fortunately, the car’s driver escaped injury, and the road was closed for about three hours while authorities investigated the scene.
