Narrative
THURMAN, IA – A single-vehicle crash near Thurman claimed the life of 46-year-old David Hanser of Nebraska on Saturday.
The incident occurred near around 4 p.m. when a 2020 Ford Transit Van, traveling westbound on 160th Street, failed to navigate a curve. The van veered off the road, entered a ravine, and collided with multiple trees.
Emergency responders extricated Hanser from the vehicle, transporting him to an Omaha hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
Three passengers, aged 19, 28, and 20, managed to exit the van and were hospitalized with unspecified injuries.
The Fremont County Sheriff’s Office stated that weather and road conditions played a role in the crash, and investigations are ongoing.
