Narrative
POWESHIEK CO., IA – A 45-year-old man died Saturday in a solo crash involving a semi along the interstate in east-central Jasper County.
The accident happened on the eastbound side of I-80 near mile marker 179, which is just southwest of Grinnell.
Police say that for unknown reasons, a truck driver lost control, left the roadway, and crashed into a creek bed.
The truck driver died at the scene. Authorities identified him as Mebratu Wonjala.
